Oh my gosh! Trying to choose the perfect yarn for the Stone Crop Cardi
I thought I had this project colors in the hole. I was so happy with the first colors I picked for this Stonecrop Cardi.
My main color of choice is my very own Spicy colorway. I am going out of my comfort zone on this one. It's my effort to introduce various colors into my wardrobe instead of my go- greens and blues. So, I felt that almost any variegated color I chose would show up.
Nope it didn't.
The first color I chose made my combo look like Valentines Day. Well, at least that is what my son thought. I liked it though, but I kept shopping.
I went onto a new colorway that I love called Uptown. It has a rustic vibe on an uptown scale. It went so nice with the red, but when I knit up this combo the Uptown blended in too much.
Back to the Valentine's vibe I went. I knit up a couple of rows thinking it would pop, but Birthday blended right in with the red. What a bummer.
Ugh! I had to find my drawing board again. I literally put my project in time out because I was at a complete stop in my color choices. It was also 8 o'clock at night and I wanted to go to bed.
Luckily I have another Stonecrop Cardi going at the same time. There is a reason to my madness at this level.
I started working on another Stonecrop Cardi in DK weight. I even had a bit of trouble starting this cardigan because it was in DK weight and not sock weight (what it's done in originally) I was tired of working in sock.
Okay! I have found my 3rd and final color and I'm sticking with it. It is in my new colorway Clarity. I hope it pops it bit better than my other choices. We will see.
I am not changing it after this. lol!
Happy Yarning,
DawnAurora
